Operating under the Directorate of Physical Planning & Development, the unit handles a wide range of responsibilities—from regular maintenance of buildings and utilities to emergency repairs and infrastructural improvements. Core Responsibilities

The Works and Maintenance Unit is responsible for:

  • Routine and Preventive Maintenance: Timely upkeep of academic buildings, offices, lecture halls, laboratories, student hostels, and communal facilities to prevent deterioration.

  • Electrical Works: Installation, maintenance, and repair of lighting, wiring systems, backup power (generators/inverters), and campus-wide electrical infrastructure.

  • Plumbing and Water Systems: Ensuring reliable water supply, drainage, and sanitation services across the university community.

  • Mechanical Maintenance: Servicing and repair of mechanical installations such as air conditioners, water pumps, elevators, and generators.

  • Civil and Structural Repairs: Addressing issues such as roofing, wall cracks, tiling, painting, carpentry, and general structural integrity.

  • Emergency Response: Swift attention to urgent maintenance cases that threaten safety, academic activities, or administrative operations.

  • Facilities Upgrade Support: Collaborating in infrastructure development and modernization projects by providing technical expertise and oversight.
